com/jobs/12854283 />Summary DescriptionUnder the general direction of the Quality Control Manager, theNondestructive Examination (NDE) Specialist willhave NDE inspection responsibility on assigned projects including somecombination of dimensional inspection,radiography, and other inspection methodsThe position will workclosely with Production and Engineeringand will be involved in the coordination and resolution of projectspecific technical matters.
Job Duties/ResponsibilitiesThe NDE Specialist will have some combination of the following dutiesdepending on company needs and specificpersonal certifications:
Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
To practice, enforce, and maintain records pertaining to Kansas andFederal regulations, under license,and Company requirements concerning radiation safety and homelandsecurity.
Interpret RT film for compliance to Code and/or specificationrequirements, including review of film, issuingrepair sheets and identifying location of defects, RT report write-up(radiographic reader sheets), and presentationof film package to the AI and/or customer Inspectors, when required.
Learn and remain current with all code rules and requirements.
Ensure acceptable standards of quality are achieved during fabricationby strict radiographic, visual, dimensional,and NDE inspection of components and products in accordance withdrawings, standards, and specifications.
Perform VT, MT, PT, UT and PMI Inspections as required.
Respond to Quality questions and/or non-conformances.
Interface with customer to ensure technical requirements are met.
Create, distribute, and revise Quality Plans and Inspection/Test Plans.
Calibrate measuring/testing equipment.
Perform small repairs, cleaning, and preventative maintenance oninspection equipmentReport abnormal conditions of NDE equipment to the Quality ControlManager.
Be involved in the development and revision of NDE procedures.
Participate in general process improvements and initiatives.
Constant exposure to weather, extreme cold and heat, wetness/humidity,loud/intense noises and dirt/dust.
Moderate exposure to vibration, darkness/poor lighting, movingmechanical parts,confined spaces, high or exposed places, toxic/caustic chemicals andodors.
